Perform straightening cream features in three variants: N For normal to resistant hair, C for coloured hair and S for sensitised or highlighted hair. Before the service, diagnose the hair condition and choose the right variant. It is recommended to do a test strand before the service. Use with Perform straightening cream neutraliser.
Straightening cream variants:
N – For natural to resistant hair
C – For coloured hair
Not recommended for hair with more than 50% highlights.
PREPARATION:
It is recommended to perform a strand test before the service.
STEP 1 – STRAIGHTENING CREAM:
Use non-metallic tools. Wear gloves. Apply the product to dry hair using a brush and bowl. Start at the nape area and apply in small sections, keeping approximately 0.5 cm away from the scalp. Comb through once to ensure even saturation. Make sure the hair remains straight during the development time. Do not use heat and do not cover the hair.
DEVELOPMENT TIME (minutes):
N – Fine hair: 15 | Medium hair: 20 | Coarse hair: 25
C – Fine hair: 5 | Medium hair: 10 | Coarse hair: 15
S – Fine hair: 5 | Medium hair: 10 | Coarse hair: 15
Application time should be kept short to ensure even development across the head. Rapid application helps minimise uneven results. Check the result with a strand test at the minimum recommended development time. Twist a strand around the tail of a comb and check whether it holds its shape. Once the desired result is achieved, comb the hair one final time before rinsing.
Emulsify with a small amount of water and rinse thoroughly. Gently press out excess moisture with a towel.
STEP 2 – HEAT APPLICATION:
Blow-dry the hair straight using tension and a brush. When the hair is completely dry, straighten using a ceramic straightening iron, working in sections no thicker than 1 cm, until the desired straightening result is achieved.
This step may be omitted for very short hair or when only a slight straightening effect is required. In this case, proceed directly to the neutralising step after rinsing out the straightening cream.
STEP 3 – NEUTRALISING:
Perform+ Straightening Neutraliser is ready to use and must not be diluted. Wear gloves. Use an equal or slightly higher quantity than the straightening cream used previously. Apply section by section using a brush and bowl or an application bottle, ensuring even saturation throughout the hair. Comb the hair straight and allow the Neutraliser to develop for 10 minutes.
Important: During neutralising, the hair must remain straight at all times.
Rinse the Neutraliser thoroughly. Apply a post-treatment or conditioner, leave on for 3–5 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Style the hair as usual.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE CLIENT:
The client should not wash their hair for 48 hours after the service. During this time, the hair should not be tied back, and hairpins, clips or ponytails should be avoided.
RE-GROWTH TREATMENT:
For re-growth services, apply the product only to the root area, with a minimum length of 4 cm. Wella Professionals Nutri-Enrich Mask may be used to protect sensitised lengths and ends during the treatment.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Do not use this product on hair that has been treated with metallic salt dyes or alkali relaxers containing sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, lithium hydroxide or guanidine carbonate. If a repeat straightening service is required, allow a minimum of one week between services.
